Château Thivin - Claude Geoffray

Beaujolais-Villages Rouge

Its bright red colour, fresh grape aromas and mouth of red fruit flavours, go excellently with cold meats and roast poultry.

Our Beaujolais vineyard is located on the foothills of the Massif Central, where a number of small valleys meet on their way to the plain of the river Saône.

The vineyard includes the picturesque Cherves valley, where on the western slope the four hectares of Beaujolais Villages flourish on granitic slopes which are too steep for our tractors, giving this wine the robust and straightforward character of mountain-folk.

The wine is made at the Manoir du Pavé, with five or six days of vinification to bring out the fresh grape flavours and the liveliness of this wine.

This Beaujolais Villages goes excellently with cold meats, poultry, cheese, and in the autumn as a Nouveau, with walnuts.
